Just scrolled through my own blog (yes all 25pages of it) and realised what an angry bitch I was. Perhaps in many sense I probably still is and how I’ve laughed at myself while scrolling through all these entries. Note to myself, I should really spell check some of my stuff and stop blogging in 1337 or internetspeak.

I’m still not going to do anything about the broken comments link cause I am lazy. The links on the sidebar don’t work either cause I can’t really be bothered. All I need is a nice blank spot for me to rant.

Scrolling through the back entries also made me realised how little I’ve blogged in 2009 which I have believed was a superbly shitty year. Can’t always wallow in the past. Let’s move on to happier things.

I think my only wish now is to return to London as soon as I can.

The best decision I made was setting up monoxious.com, the rest of the year was an awesome blur. But umm yes, there is the APEC Nuffnang Awards which was a huge turning point for our blog.

I have a couple of plans for myself and monoxious this year. It is the year of big changes and it is already looking pretty good so far.

So here’s the plan.

• Less crap food. And I specifically mean, less Mc Donald’s delivery
• sell off the lolita clothes. It was a significant part of my life in 2008. It only went downhill from there. I still love it but just some things that tainted it. do not want.
• Blog more often. Not here though. Most likely over at monoxious. This sacred spot is reserved for rants.
• more self-reflection, less idle.
• further develop skills in photography, drawing, draping, drafting and sewing.
• It’s a time for monoxious to shine because I say so.

I think that covers alot of grounds. have fun in 2010 peeps.

Guess who’s early?

The talk involved some mingling around with the other bloggers before a skin analysis *shudders* and the good people from thelittleteochew and estherthegorgeous were a joy to meet and hang out with.

The tea party was small and informal, with snacks and drinks to ease up any tension. We’re all seeing each other for the first time, well except for Dawn and I. We’re like barnacles clinging onto each other.

Wide range of skincare products her with the most popular and signature product, Facial Treatment Essence aka, “The Miracle Water” [insert kira kira here].

We had an individual skin analysis measuring properties of the skin like moisture, sebum, elasticity and wrinkles. *eep*

Through the skin analysis, I managed to find out my skin condition and the areas that should be of concern.

Chart proves that everything is srs biz.

With this chart, they are able to determine the type of products that is able to target your skin problems and concerns and what should be your beauty regiment. Everyone’s skin is different and usually we tell the beauty staff over the counter what we -think- is our skin type and they’ll sell us the product accordingly. Unfortunately, it doesn’t work this way. Thankfully, I now know thanks to the skin analysis.

After the skin analysis, we had a product demonstration by SK-II trainer Cindy and model Mandy, illustrating how the different products should be applied and the sequence in which they go on. I’ve attended beauty courses before so they’re more of less the same, nothing too fancy or complicated and it shouldn’t deviate too much from what everyone is doing to their face now anyway. Just slot in that Miracle Water after the toner. >:3

This one was super vivid.
I was at some sort of a game launch with a few friends ( Dawn, Sharon, sz and isabel you gaiz were there) . It was super late at night and I was commenting on how crazy gamers are to wait out so late at night for this. We kinda fell aslp.

Next thing I know, we were woken up abruptly by a staff who mentioned “You guys better get up, they’re coming this way.”

“they?” WHO THEY??? DEY SI BO???

*cues tank music* We see a boss zombie. GOOD JOB people, I came for a game launch, not a freaking zombie apocalypse. We ran for our lives. Ran INTO a building, not the smartest thing to do but we supposed there are weapons inside. There were, but not before we had to outrun a horde of zombie nurses in pink uniform (told you it was vivid) which we stood there trying to make out if they were humans or zombies for a good 10 seconds.

It was only after they started running towards us I was like “ARGHHHHHH RUNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN”. So yes. We did manage weapons in the end and collection of many different types of equipment that we needed. The torchlight was vital, main power supplies were cut off, it was scary in the dark.

Like fucking omgimmashitinmypants scary.

I don’t remember how we got out in the end but yes, remind me NOT to go for game launches in the middle of the night which may possibly involve zombies. Thank you.

It started out with me being in a beautiful house that is decorated in mainly blue and white with beautiful sunlight streaming in most parts of the day and I was discussing how I’d like to convert one of the rooms to a work studio. There were 4 toilets. Don’t ask me why there’re so many, there just is.

Then I was getting ready to go out. It’s not Singapore for sure and the landscapes were beautiful. Like “Sound of Music” beautiful, green and vast with beautiful skies. I could lie down there and daydream all day.

Then there was an airport theme restaurant with little airplane cockpit rooms to dine in. I swear this has to exist somewhere or someone is going to steal this idea. CREDIT BACK YOU GUYS.

I was taking pictures in my dreams and I’d wake up confused, check my camera to see if it’s all real.

I want that house.

Back then they weren’t even called blogs. I had an account with a site called “OpenDiary” which deleted my account cos it wasn’t updated regularly. There goes my angsty teenage self.

Then there was Deadjournal, a parody of Livejournal. I kept that account for 4 years before finally deciding to own my own domain, minicloud.com

It’s been quite a journey I think, primarily it was to keep my friends updated on my life which I still believe many friends still do. Thank you all for ur love.

I’m not an awesome writer, I write like I talk and believe me I trash talk too much for my own good. None of those flowery language or prose. I’m grateful even for that small number of people who visit my blog regularly.

I had a friend who described minicloud.com as “random”. I can’t remember the exact words he said but yeah…. “random”. It was like being slapped in the face.

At that point of time aside from being defensive about stuff like:

“this is a personal blog, my life is random, so is my blog”
“why should I limit myself to a certain theme?”
“yadda yadda yadda”
“[insert other defensive random comments]”

I was so discouraged by the fact that a blog has to be commercialized to be popular that or u are popular in the first place and then u become commercialized. I stopped updating for a long time, save for patronising “I am not dead” posts.

I have come to terms with the reality that if you have no commercial value in your blog, you would not have readers. No traffic= no money.
It conflicted totally with the ideology I have of a blog. I’ve always believed that blogs are supposed to be a record of your life and not for fame or popularity.

Times have changed and so have blogs. While I am stubborn and choose to maintain minicloud in all it’s randomness, I have decided that my other passion ( which is fashion) needs to flourish too. Hence the spawn of my fashion blog; monoxious.com, a collaboration with Dawn.

I told my ex-lecturer that I was conscientiously checking for new runway pics, formulating trend reports and picking out design details. Something which I didn’t even bother to do when I was in school. She laughed. I wonder what that meant.

I am much more ambitious with monoxious than minicloud. I saw a potential in fashion blogging and the power it commands. I have much to offer to the fashion blogosphere, I -know- I do.

Now, 5months after we posted our first blog post on monoxious, we are attending the Asia-Pacific Blog Awards hosted by Nuffnang. I have probably said this alot of time but for a blog as young as ours to be nominated was an extreme honor. I don’t think we stand much of a chance at winning but it was fun stalking our web counter stats.

So while I’m being all wax lyrical about blogs and blogging. I have a short attention span. I’m chatting to Dawn at this point of time and I’ve forgotten what was the real point of this blog entry. I’m such a buzzkill sometimes.

Point being. minicloud is going to remain all random. *cue applause*
and monoxious is going to be awesome. *cue more applause*

nonetheless, I am glad to be doing something which I deem to be productive in the long run (except the part about ruining my hair yesterday but it was fun though).

It’s been a crazy week but I shan’t elaborate, if you know, you know. I would tell you if I feel like it. If I don’t then stfu and gtfo, don’t ask, don’t do anything.

Sometimes I find myself laughable, with the blatant truth right in front of me, I can easily con myself into thinking it’s not like that. To skew reality to fit my ideal, I think there’s better uses for this talent of mine.

I’m not trying to be cliche about this but I have no more tears to shed, either that, or it’s not worth it. I’d like to think it’s the latter.

I think it is human to want what we don’t have. Like my 7868366372 Irongate prints. They feel insignificant after you’ve own so many of them somehow. but that aside, I wonder if humans are really cut out to “live out dreams”, since it just feels like another checklist.

Of cos I’m not implying that people who achieve their dreams are stupid or wadever. I am chasing my dreams too. But I think dreams are [ never ending ]. They are achieved and re-spawned. They should never be just one dream.
