Loli ard the world:Frankfurt Lolita meet 15 Nov 2008

Posted November 20th, 2008 by minicloud

I finally got to meet up with a bigger group of lolitas in Frankfurt. Thankfully Asami was there too so I didn’t feel isolated and weird. And also Yana for being the organizer of this meet.

It’s really getting cold in Europe and certain parts of USA.
The meetup in Paris a few weeks ago nearly killed me too.

Anyway, photos ahead.

We found a big bear to take photos with.

I didn’t get everyone’s name but, the girl in the middle made her own jsk and beret. I’m so impressed. The fabric looked so awesome.

In fact, many of the german lolis on that day made their own outfits. I think it’s pretty damn awesome.

With Yana and Asami~

Michela(?)wearing the Meta swan print. I’m sorry if i spelled your name wrongly. (btw i love your hair)

We headed off to the Murakami Exhibit. And I must say~ He remains one of my favorite popart artists to date.

I am in love with the Louis Vuitton walls.
Unfortunately no photos were allowed inside or I would’ve plastered myself on these walls.

And it was too cold to take any more photos. I need to get myself another coat or something.

Versailles- Marie Antoinette Estate

Posted November 2nd, 2008 by minicloud

I had the joy of meeting up with the lovely french lolis again.

The weather wasn’t very kind to us and a series of unfortunate events had to start as we stepped out of our doors.

Firstly the trains were late (and/or delayed) as there was something wrong with the tracks. It was cold and frigid. I met Gabrielle and Julie about 40mins late? (oh the poor girls had to wait in the cold for me. T___T)

When we got into the gardens, we got somewhat lost although it was a pretty scenic walk (but I do think walks are for when the weather is warmer. LOL)

Gabrielle had to suffer the wrath that is gravel pavements and uneven ground on her Antenna shoes and my Baby, the star shines bright madelaine shoes too, suffered some battle scars.

There were cows and sheeps and horses on the way there.

Marie Antoinette used to dress the sheeps with ribbons round their neck. It must’ve been quite a sight.
umm no photos since my hands were permanently STUCK in the pockets since i didn’t have gloves with me.

We finally reached our destination~!

At the lovely stairway with Marie Antoinette’s emblem on the stairway. I think it’s so ostentatious. I want my own emblem too.

She doesn’t have a good reputation amongst French, but I do think she is amazing for the fact that she remains one of the more prominent French historical females to date.

Mirror shot~!

If they did make use of the fireplace, we wouldn’t still be wearing our coats indoors.

This is my favorite shot out of the lot.

I can so imagine holding tea parties here.

The infamous Madame du Barry’s room.

It’s pretty small actually. I think she probably feels like she’s in jail.

The servants at Le Petit Trinon wore these jackets. What I thought was cool were the buttons that actually bore Marie Antoinette’s emblem too.

It was too cold for us to bear. And we had to leave.

Made our way to Julie’s house who graciously invited us over for tea to keep us warm. I managed to meet Julie’s little sister, Sophie who was such a gem. I got a little shock when she came over to flip up my skirt and petti and exclaimed that I must be so cold wearing only the bloomers and knee-high socks outside.

Lucie came over too and they were sharing about the tea party where Misako was there during the Japan expo. It was pretty funny.

It was such fun meeting them again~! I do hope to learn French soon so I can understand them better.

I can has stalker. Literally

Posted September 10th, 2008 by minicloud

I usually think stalkers these days would limit themselves to bugging you online.

I was wrong.

I’ll relate an incident when I was in Akihabara 2 days ago. I needed to go to a few 天使の窠 (Tenshi no sumika) that day to look for my dolls stuff. Akihabara has a sumika there, so I dropped by for a look.
We wll know that Akiba is famous for their electronics and is the hub of Otakus around the world. There are also a couple of sex stores there and some maid cafes. I hope you know what I’m getting to.

Although the hint of sex! and sleaziness! is not as strong as let’s say, Kabukicho or certain parts of Roppongi but you can still say there is still quite a gathering of testosterone there.
So i was innocently browsing at a toy store when I noticed this guy tailing me. I shrugged it off and thought maybe he was just interested at the stuff I was interested in.

I turned a corner, he turned a corner too.
I walked out the store, he walked out too.
I stopped and looked at something, he stopped too.
I walked fast, he did the same thing too.

My worst fears were confirmed. In my heart I was scared cause whatever scare tactics I would’ve used back home would probably not work cause:

1) bugger wouldn’t understand wtf I’m saying.
2) He’s probably done this a couple of times.
3) Stalkers back in SG are basically harmless cos let’s face it, they dun have much balls.

And all the while I’m furiously sms-ing my Monkey.
I stopped at the roadside to continue sms-ing when I saw him stop at the crossing about 1.5m away from me. Between us was a lamppost. I even saw him peep to check that i was still there.

I think I freaked out a little. Maybe he’s high on that look on my face. D:

Anyway, I waited for him to look away before I sprinted across a 6-lane road to safety. Luckily I didn’t have much things with me and I was wearing sensible footwear.
I don’t think he could’ve outrun me, thank god I was in the track and field team, I still has it. ;_;

I ran straight to the subway station and got outta there~!!

NEVER GOING TO AKIHABARA ALONE AGAIN~!!!! (屮゚Д゚)屮

So people complain that I don’t blog enough.
Srsly, you guys don’t even pay me. Okay fine, you pay attention to me. That’s all that matters no?

So I was in Vancouver last week and went to the Aquarium. I have an undeniable obsession with jellyfishes. And probably an explanation why I like Spongebob…cos he digs jellyfishes as much as I do.

ONWARD FOR PHOTOS.

San Francisco loot

Posted May 11th, 2008 by minicloud

Dammit. I bought the most random stuff in San Francisco.

From clocks to cameras to shampoo and makeup.

another completely random note, I LOVE URBAN OUTFITTERS. They have the coolest stuff on earth.

And also, I’m severely jetlagged cos it’s 220am and I’m still awake.

ok~ on to pics~!

dsc02398.JPG
Random Puma store. trying out the fisheye lens for my mobile phone. i wish my lens were flat so the fisheye wld adhere properly.

Apple store~!!!
I finally got my ipod upgraded~
dsc02400.JPG
That green rim is from the fisheye. It wouldn’t adhere properly.

Food from cheesecake factory. It tastes better than it photographs.
dsc02401.JPG

Clock that I bought from UO.
dsc02404.JPG

Diana+ Edelweiss camera from lomography~!
I have 5 toy cameras so far~!!!
dsc02407.JPG

TINNNNNY babyliss flat iron. awesome for traveling.
dsc02409.JPG

I also bought a dress from american eagles which I’m too lazy to photograph and some makeup brushes from Sephora and 2 eyeshadows from Nars which looks just freaking awesome I had to buy them even though I’m a MAC fan.

That’s it for loots. Heading to Seoul tomorrow. Hopefully I get to go to Rose Chocolat.

Paris Lolita meet

Posted May 11th, 2008 by minicloud

I had another chance to meet up with the lovely lolitas from Paris finally~!!!

We headed to Galleries Lafayette for a Japanese event thingama that was going on.
I’m kinda lazy to put text. I’m the laziest blogger I knowwwww~
I’ll let the pics speak for themselves and umm~ add captions as I go along.

paris_07.jpg
We only started the camwhoring outside of Harajuku (not Harajuku in Tokyo, but just a store named Harajuku which sells overpriced Moitie. )

paris_05.jpg
I love love love Julie’s coordinations. The bodyline jacket is soooo much love.

paris_09.jpg
That wolf bag is freaking awesome.

paris_08.jpg

Gabrielle is a pinup loli~
How come the french lolis suit red lipstick so well???

We roamed around and headed to Luxemborg (god i hope this is how u spell it)okay wait, we were hanging out at a Starbucks before that. But I don’t have pics.

paris_06.jpg
I love this photo. It’s such natural expressions. XD

paris_04.jpg
Gabrielle does things I don’t understand but she’s so cute.

paris_03.jpg
Lucy and Gabrielle were twinning.

paris_02.jpg
Jeanne dropped by after work and she wearing a gorgeous skirt.

paris_01.jpg
The rest had to go back and Jeanne and I hung out for dinner and everything. She took me to a nice pub where she had her first date so it’s kinda cute. I introduced her to Malibu Pineapple. but it doesn’t taste quite the same as the ones I had back home. Must be the pineapple juice that they use.

Anyway that’s the only pic of me that I have. It’s a freaking hot coordinate and the cape looks kinda big and floppy from the front. I have no idea how to fix that. :/

Anyway, by the end of dinner, I was sooooo bummed cos I haven’t slp at all~

I realised that no matter how much I love the french lolitas, I cld never be one of them simply because I am not french myself. It was a joy nonetheless hanging out with them cos they’re such cool people, but I truly truly belong in drama-filled Singapore. And despite all that drama hanging around, I do wish we could learn to appreciate each other and show hospitality to ppl who are visiting us just like the kindness that the other lolitas all over the world have shown me.

I’m really appreciate and thank the french lolis for their company and also the lovely macaroons I got to bring back. Thank you so much~!!! *hugs*

Travel Log: Tokyo Day 2. Epic sakura.

Teaser shots for the day.taken by zemotion

I retired really early on day 1 cos I didn’t sleep on the plane the day before.

Anyway, woke up early to prepare for the an epic photoshoot. I think my hair took 1.5hrs to do.

I feel like a genius.

I applied for my leave last Sept and I was just guessing the dates when the sakuras would bloom in Tokyo. And guess wad? The day before I arrived, they started blooming.

My timing is impeccable.
And i heard it’s going to rain tomorrow and all the flowers would fall off. Isn’t the timing just awesome??????
Kami-sama watches over me~!!! *w*

And zer0 and I really have to thank Chris for helping us with everything. From taking us around, to carrying stuff for us and translating.

At one point of time when I was dressing up with the kimono, we had to ask for help and these 2 middle-aged women came and help us with the kimono. I was basically dressed in 5mins, obi and all.
;_; They are so kind.

And along the way there were other middle-aged BFFs who adjusted my obi and kimono. it’s like changing stylists every 15mins. Awesome shit.

We headed to Nippori in hope of finding awesome Japanese parasols for another shoot but no avail… so we headed to Asakusa instead.

That place is like Kyoto in Tokyo.
*w*
okay maybe not… cos I’ve never been there. But it is what I wld’ve imagined it to be. Huge temple. Big red lantern and rows of shops selling traditional japanese wares.

Anyway, I was being dumb by bringing out only my cash and forgot all about my credit card cos I thought I was just going out for a photoshoot. -_-;;;

But I spent a great deal of moolah at Asakusa.

Japanese Parasols

These things are epically expensive but these pics do not do them justice~~
dsc02185.JPG

dsc02186.JPG

This was today’s dinner. Beef cubes at Pepper Lunch.

And that concludes day 2 when I’m sitting at the laptop still wearing my socks. XD

Travel Log: Tokyo Sakura Day 1

Posted March 26th, 2008 by minicloud

Plane ride was uneventful, so don’t expect any reports on that.

Immigrations was a pain to clear. It took me more than an hour to clear it and collect my luggage. After that it was smooth sailing, from buying train tickets to Tokyo and finding my way to the awesome apartment that I’m staying in.

I’m staying in Kodenmacho, a station near Akihabara on the Hibiya line. In this apartment block called Stylim.

It’s an award winning apartment and everything inside just screams “DESIGNER~!!!”
stylim01.jpg

They put so much attention into the equipment and fittings. The toilet seats that are installed have heater function.
The kitchen space is small but functional and useful for just one or two person staying there.
stylim02.jpg

The entrance area’s light is activated by a motion sensor and the pendant lamps in the apartment are made to slide around so that you can achieve different lighting effects.

The toilet heater has an announcement function when you change the temperature.
stylim03.jpg

And i stole this photo from zer0. LOL…
tokyo01-01.jpg

Isn’t it freaking awesome???

So after being super awed by the apartment, zemotion and I set out for Harajuku. I bought a whole bunch of Swimmer stuff which came up to about 8000yen. D:

dsc02184.JPG

Yes I know that’s alot of bento boxes, but they’re not all for myself.

This was yesterday’s lunch.
Beef stew omelette rice from Jonathan’s.
dsc02159.JPG

I forgot to add that there was a h00j mob in Harajuku near the entrance of Takeshita dori. I think alot of people were stampede-ed to death yesterday.

We then went to Shinjuku and I went crazy.
I bought all these.
Moitie blouse and choker, Excentrique underbust corset~!
dsc02189.JPG

I almost bought everything that I wanted to on the first day.
But I still can’t find the polaroid back for my Holga.
Ideas anyone?

A time for changes (and some pics from Nagoya)

Posted January 30th, 2008 by minicloud

I think it’s yearly cycle, I’m one who likes to change layouts of my environment.
Like blog layouts or my room layout.

If you ask my friends who have been to my house very often, they’d tell you that my room layout changes alot.

And now, as I’m typing, I’m in the midst of cleaning up and contemplating possible changes to make to my room.

I am one bored bitch.

onto other news, I was in Nagoya last weekend.
Subways are always my challenge in a foreign land.
dsc02008.JPG

dsc02009.JPG
Apple store in Nagoya. The layout reminds me alot of the one in San Francisco.

dsc02011.JPG
ANY fast food restaurant is good in Japan. Even good ol’McD’s.
