Osaka Castle

Posted April 14th, 2009 by minicloud

It’s difficult to shoot with a wide angle lens with so many people around. I get them in the picture and it looks messy.

But dramatic no?

On the way to the park. It reminds me of tellytubbyland.

Lens flare that is actually not photoshopped. LOL.

Pretend there's water and you get a nice waterfall. I'M SRS. This is a waterfall that's dry cos we went in the wrong season.

Urban Lolita

Posted August 28th, 2008 by minicloud

I came back early today to find that the weather was actually pretty good (considering it has been raining these few days).

So I decided to do a little camwhoring.

I lugged my stuff to a nearby multi-storey carpark.
Shooting at 3pm in the afternoon is a bad idea.
I swear I nearly fainted from the heat and the clouds make the lighting super inconsistent. So yeah… Shooting in mid afternoon. Not my brightest moment.

I wanna trot the world dressed in Gothic Lolita.

Photo developing

Posted July 5th, 2008 by minicloud

Yesterday was a productive day.

Met Liz for lunch and passed her a map of New York along of places to go to and stuff.

And then Bin for some first time photographic experience: Learning how to develop and print my own photos.
Went to Peninsula for the appropriate film and then trigger happiness along Sg River (cliche I know) before developing that roll of film at Objectifs.

The entire process was tedious. It’s like a picky chemistry practical lesson. With mixing and ensuring things are of the right temperature (20°C~!!!) making sure stuff are dry~. Agitating the film (sounds so LOL, it just means shaking the container containing the film). Winding up the film around the drum in total darking is damn lol. (”dudeeeee where’s the scissors?”)

Unfortunately we were only able to process the film. Photos printing didn’t turn out too well. :/ Should probably try again next time.

Streetfest 2008

Posted June 2nd, 2008 by minicloud

Long overdue post. Can’t help it that I have to go to Frankfurt. Anyway, I got to edit and resize the pics when I was there.

Streetfest’08 was in a completely new environment this year. Not that ideal in my opinion as the idea of bands playing indoor is just a little too much. The sound is all contained and I suppose the bands would be containing in some of that energy too.

Aircon was basically non-existant. And we decided to camwhore instead.

An awesome amount of old cameras and toy cameras make my day~!

The polaroid back was out of stock and I ended up having to buy the Holga champion kit.
it consists of:

  • Holga 120GCFN
  • Polaroid back
  • 35mm film back
  • Fisheye for Holga
  • Fisheye holder attachment
  • Holga effect kit which includes 11 filters
  • 35mm 120 and polaroid films
  • Holga phone strap

Awesome amount of nonsense which costs me a grand total of 39,900yen T___T

The other toy camera at the bottom is the Golden Half by SuperHeadz.

Teaser shots for the day.taken by zemotion

I retired really early on day 1 cos I didn’t sleep on the plane the day before.

Anyway, woke up early to prepare for the an epic photoshoot. I think my hair took 1.5hrs to do.

I feel like a genius.

I applied for my leave last Sept and I was just guessing the dates when the sakuras would bloom in Tokyo. And guess wad? The day before I arrived, they started blooming.

My timing is impeccable.
And i heard it’s going to rain tomorrow and all the flowers would fall off. Isn’t the timing just awesome??????
Kami-sama watches over me~!!! *w*

And zer0 and I really have to thank Chris for helping us with everything. From taking us around, to carrying stuff for us and translating.

At one point of time when I was dressing up with the kimono, we had to ask for help and these 2 middle-aged women came and help us with the kimono. I was basically dressed in 5mins, obi and all.
;_; They are so kind.

And along the way there were other middle-aged BFFs who adjusted my obi and kimono. it’s like changing stylists every 15mins. Awesome shit.

We headed to Nippori in hope of finding awesome Japanese parasols for another shoot but no avail… so we headed to Asakusa instead.

That place is like Kyoto in Tokyo.
*w*
okay maybe not… cos I’ve never been there. But it is what I wld’ve imagined it to be. Huge temple. Big red lantern and rows of shops selling traditional japanese wares.

Anyway, I was being dumb by bringing out only my cash and forgot all about my credit card cos I thought I was just going out for a photoshoot. -_-;;;

But I spent a great deal of moolah at Asakusa.

These things are epically expensive but these pics do not do them justice~~

This was today’s dinner. Beef cubes at Pepper Lunch.

And that concludes day 2 when I’m sitting at the laptop still wearing my socks. XD
