I visited Dolpa for the first time in my life.

Unfortunately and fortunately actually
I was broke and didn’t manage to buy much. But I did wanted to splurge on my little girl so she got new hair and eyes.

The eyes are really darling and I couldn’t resist the pale pink wig.

So here she is, post-Dolpa. I love her even more.

It is FINALLY OVER~!!! Not that it’s a bad thing, but at least that’s the explanation for my disappearance for the past 2-3weeks.

Dawn and I have been sweatshopping and producing merchandise to be sold at the annual event, The Doll Affair (TDA for short).

I’m extremely grateful for her help, for which I would not be able to get many of the things done. Her 1337 cutting skillz have benefited the booth greatly. In fact, it is the very highlight and the thing that bound the whole booth together. ;A; THANK YOU DAWN ILU.

I would also like to take this opportunity to thank the ENTIRE TDA committee ( Alanna, Feli, Shu, Elsie, Celeste and people I don’t really know yet….sorry if I missed you out~!!!) and their volunteers (hime-photographer Ivory, Theresa, Jasmine, Wai and some other people I still don’t know yet.) for their hard work and relentless efforts to promote the BJD culture in Singapore. I think it’s a huge deal and everyone looks forward to this event every year now.

I’d also like to thank Dawn for her help, encouragement and input all this while. I can never find the words to express my gratitude in having you as a partner and a friend. You has my love. CHO RABU RABU <3 <3 <3

Last but not least, to Sharon who has managed to talk me firstly into this hobby ( D: ARGH YOU ENABLER~!!! I got my first doll lovely item 2 weeks after seeing hers.), secondly into participating TDA2008 as a dealer and also her constant encouragement and stealthy ability to talk me into things. Thank you, I wouldn’t have started this without you.

Okay, my main reason for going to Tokyo this time is to get a new doll.

I think nothing beats walking into Volk’s 天使の窠 to buy your own doll (except of course, the ceremony at 天使の里).

So anyway, that’s what I did.

I went to Shinjuku’s sumika and the staff there seemed pretty accustomed to gaijins.
I promptly asked for a くん(Kun) and she just dragged one out from those huge ass cupboard. There was only one left (I think). But then again, I don’t think it’s like everyday you get someone going into the store to ask for a 50000yen~infinity-yen doll.

So I lugged a hugeass box back to my hotel first before going to the other sumikas.
But this post is about my own box-opening ceremony.

Ladies and gentlemen,

This is the result of 5hours of mad sewing.
The buttons and some small things here and there are still unfinished.
But I have never been prouder of my sewing. And I have new admirations for people who sew doll clothings.

And I love her so so so so much.

I never realised how hard it is to sew for a doll until now.

I have officially completed sewing the ugliest piece of shit I’ve ever sewn in my life.

The pride I used to hold for sewing decent stuff within a short span of time has gone down the drain.

This piece of clothing has humbled and shamed me.

A few points to note when srsly sewing for a Yo.

try not to sew bitchy fabrics like chiffon, georgette and organza.
Lining=madness.
Shirring on a 1/6scale body is suicide.
My first attempt has completely phailed.
Arianne could probably be better off naked. T____T
she’s still pretty to me though…
