SK-II Bloggers Tea Party

Posted December 9th, 2009 by minicloud

Was invited to the SK-II Bloggers Tea Party yesterday held at the SK-II counter at Metro Paragon.

Guess who’s early? :D

The talk involved some mingling around with the other bloggers before a skin analysis *shudders* and the good people from thelittleteochew and estherthegorgeous were a joy to meet and hang out with.

The tea party was small and informal, with snacks and drinks to ease up any tension. We’re all seeing each other for the first time, well except for Dawn and I. We’re like barnacles clinging onto each other.

Wide range of skincare products her with the most popular and signature product, Facial Treatment Essence aka, “The Miracle Water” [insert kira kira here].

We had an individual skin analysis measuring properties of the skin like moisture, sebum, elasticity and wrinkles. *eep*

My Skin analyst, Jia Yi keying in my details while I fool around.

Through the skin analysis, I managed to find out my skin condition and the areas that should be of concern.

Chart proves that everything is srs biz.

With this chart, they are able to determine the type of products that is able to target your skin problems and concerns and what should be your beauty regiment. Everyone’s skin is different and usually we tell the beauty staff over the counter what we -think- is our skin type and they’ll sell us the product accordingly. Unfortunately, it doesn’t work this way. Thankfully, I now know thanks to the skin analysis.

Stuff I should be using. Xmas presents anyone? :D

After the skin analysis, we had a product demonstration by SK-II trainer Cindy and model Mandy, illustrating how the different products should be applied and the sequence in which they go on. I’ve attended beauty courses before so they’re more of less the same, nothing too fancy or complicated and it shouldn’t deviate too much from what everyone is doing to their face now anyway. Just slot in that Miracle Water after the toner. >:3

Hope on over to monoxious for Dawn’s post on the event and click on the ad found there for more information. :D

Thank you SK-II for organizing this event and Nuffnang for the invitation.
Have a merry xmas everyone.

Skin care routine.

Posted April 10th, 2007 by minicloud

I honestly think Biotherm should hire me as a blogger ambassador for them or something. They should sponser my skincare routine~!!

Every girl has a skincare routine, whether you’re wash-n-go (like I used to be~) or a product junkie.

But a good and proper skincare routine is the key to beautiful skin. I know cause I’ve been there. My skin is pretty hardy considering the type of negligence I’ve shown it. I’m too lazy to remove makeup, it all acculmulates and one fine day, breakouts. And I’m not talking about zits that you can squeeze (oh god, don’t even get me started on lecturing…) I’m talking about huge gigantic cyst-like pimples that hurts and gets really swollen and painful when you touch it. Moreover, the redness takes weeks to go away.

But enough about that. Let us talk about how you should try and start (If you haven’t already done so) and protect your skin.

First of all, you must identify your skintype. Identifying your skin type ensures that the right type of products be chosen for your skintype so as to properly target your concerns and skin problems.

  • Is it dry to touch?
  • Does makeup stay on?
  • Are you suffering from shine by midday?
  • Dry skin feels tight after washing but it could also be because you’re using the wrong type of cleanser. (eg using a cleanser for oily skin where it strips your skin of oil when your skin type is already dry to begin with) And to break myths, clean skin does not have to feel tight after washing.
  • Oily skin is shiny and makeup is hard to stay on, they’re also prone to breakouts when not properly taken care of. Contrary to beliefs, oily skin do need moisterising as well.
  • Most people have combination skin, where most of the oil is from the forehead, nose and chin area (also known as the T-zone). However, most people aren’t away that there are actually 2types of combination skin. The dry/combination is where your cheek areas feel tight after washing; and the normal/combination skin where no part of the face feels tight after washing.

And now, onward to the routine. (click for more~!!!)

Travel Log: Nanjing, China

Posted February 20th, 2007 by minicloud

At first I’m pretty sad that I’m gonna have to work on Chinese New Year in China, but in actual fact, I’m pretty much enjoying myself here.

The things here are dirt cheap, the work was pretty easy.

I went out shopping today (or rather, attempted to shop). In the end, I zhng-ed(hokkien equivalent for “pimped”) my phone so it’s a glittery dark grey which suits my phone completely. And it only costs me RMB50 which is like SGD10~ I really admire the assistant for her patience. She had to painstakingly bore holes for the speaker in the glitter film. There were 44 holes, I counted.

I’ll have pics up later since I didn’t bring my card reader with me.

Anyway, I had eyelash extensions done. They were effin cheap as well. It costs me RMB50 bucks…and it would have easily costed me SGD 60 bucks if I were to do it in Singapore. And I got so bored I counted the number of individual lashes she stuck on an eye. There were a total of 50+ lashes on one eye which meant that there were 100+ individual lashes on both eyes~!

i love my lashes

I’m not really used to it. My eyelids feel abit heavy. My colleague experienced a bit of discomfort and started to tear after doing it.

The funniest thing happened after I removed my contact lenses.

My lashes hit the lens of my glasses. LOL…now I have to wear my glasses lower on my nose bridge. I look like an ah-ma (granny) doing her knitting and sewing work. wahhahaha~ *amused*

More shopping tomorrow. I’m hoping that I’ll buy something tangible instead. muahhaha~

Never would I dream of the day where I would start taking pills on my own accord because:

  • I suck at swallowing pills
  • I snort at the thought of having something artificial replace my nutrients that I get from food
  • I’m way too cool for supplements cos supplements are pills and only sick ppl swallow pills
