Lolita meet at The White Rabbit

Posted March 24th, 2009 by minicloud

A few of us decided to organise a pretty last minute meetup (man we’ve gotta stop organising things so last minute).

So we headed to a local church-turned-restaurant called “The White Rabbit”.

The architecture is perfect for Lolita meets.

oh the prettiness~!!

Food wasn’t really fantastic for the price though. I had Mac & Cheese.

And peanut butter chocolate tart for dessert~!! it came with a funky tasting grape soda.

We took some polaroids that day.

Isabel is soooo cute and soooo pretty.

I love this photo. Sharon and Dawn looked like kittens pouncing on each other.

Gothic Arch whoring.

I took so many photos of Dawn.

I love my wide angle lens. ^o^

The following 4 photos are just dying to be made into a GIF

Headed to a nice cafe afterwards~!

Totally defaced Dawn’s Taiko in “Taiko no tatsu jin”.

a genius is me

Posted March 21st, 2009 by minicloud

I think I’m pretty brilliant at times.

This story is going to be long so settle in and grab a coffee.

I was in Tokyo a few days ago and while waiting in the lobby for my colleagues, I dropped my phone.
.
.
.
.
.
yes the fucking iPhone
Flat down. not at an angle.
so you can say that the damn phone got the full impact of the fall from waist height onto a marble floor.
Brilliant isn’t it? (but that’s not why this story is brilliant)

I picked up the phone and to my horror, the screen was blue… like a twitter-blue. with some random vertical lines all over the place.
My day was immediately ruined. But bah… who has time to mourn when shopping awaits really?
(That is still not the point of my story)

The phone technically still works. I can pick up calls I just can’t make them or see who’s calling. not like that is any comfort the horrrrrror
So i backed up my phone for one last time just in case and the syncing works.

So when I got back to Singapore, I went to the Singtel shop to get my phone fixed.
Long story short, they asked if I dropped my phone, I lied. They checked it and couldn’t find any visible evidence of it being dropped (ala scratches, dents) so….

I got a new iPhone

I was seriously expecting to fork out 200bucks to have the LCD replaced.
(and guess what? this is -stilllllllll- not the point of why I’m brilliant)

So i went back happily to restore this iPhone with my former settings, set the alarm on my iPhone and went to bed.

And now i’m up. I swear my body feels weird…. like a it’s-too-early-and-I-should-still-be-sleeping kinda weird.
I checked my clock and it’s one hour behind.

My iPhone was in Tokyo time when it was last backed up and when I restored it, it remained at Tokyo time. So yeah. The point of this brilliant story is that I woke up one hour too early.

Am I a genius or what?

One of the best clubbing experience ever.

We left the place at daybreak.
The crowd and music’s awesome.

The company was really great. Couldn’t have asked for more.

strange dreams.

Posted March 16th, 2009 by minicloud

I had murderous thoughts in my dream.

I wanted my dad dead cause he pissed me off. The broken marriage between him and my mum has never bothered me much. He’s never done anything personal to me except not being there… and well, hurting the person I love the most. It was a weird feeling growing up without a dad, only those in my shoes would understand me fully so don’t fucking judge me.

It felt weird. I haven’t even seen him in a while.

little things

Posted March 11th, 2009 by minicloud

I took a moment, to enjoy a view from outside my door.

I took in the last moments of sunset and savored the aroma from my neighbor’s dinner.

Peace.

Random rants

Posted March 4th, 2009 by minicloud

I don’t get my mum.

She tells me not to spend too much money on bags and shoes and clothes…..and try to save money.
….the next minute she tells me that there’s this nice bag from Coach that her friend has.
So does it mean I shouldn’t spend money on my -own- bags and shoes and clothes. Instead I should spend them on her?

Women are so confusing~!!!

I got chided for buying toy cameras~!!!

Slumdog Millionaire.

Posted March 1st, 2009 by minicloud

After having the movie file since the Golden Globes, I actually have not watched it until today while I was on the plane.

There is a reason why it swept 8 oscars.
It’s been long since a movie with a lesser known cast far outshines the glitz and glamour of Hollywood. Such is the power of a story so moving and so real it chills you to the bones.
Relating to children operating in syndicates, it is not something that has been conjured out of thin air. There are people like that and it is -still- happening.

I’ve seen children in Mumbai begging for money using the [e x a c t] same methods as those portrayed in the movie. I’m saddened and horrified. I hope this movie sheds some light on the situations in India.

And oh, about Dev Patel. It is amazing how his acting has matured since Skins. I am actually not really used to him being “Jamal”, I prefer him as “Anwar”.

Enough said. GO watch the movie already.
