Versailles- Marie Antoinette Estate

Posted November 2nd, 2008 by minicloud

I had the joy of meeting up with the lovely french lolis again.

The weather wasn’t very kind to us and a series of unfortunate events had to start as we stepped out of our doors.

Firstly the trains were late (and/or delayed) as there was something wrong with the tracks. It was cold and frigid. I met Gabrielle and Julie about 40mins late? (oh the poor girls had to wait in the cold for me. T___T)

When we got into the gardens, we got somewhat lost although it was a pretty scenic walk (but I do think walks are for when the weather is warmer. LOL)

Gabrielle had to suffer the wrath that is gravel pavements and uneven ground on her Antenna shoes and my Baby, the star shines bright madelaine shoes too, suffered some battle scars.

There were cows and sheeps and horses on the way there.

Marie Antoinette used to dress the sheeps with ribbons round their neck. It must’ve been quite a sight.
umm no photos since my hands were permanently STUCK in the pockets since i didn’t have gloves with me.

We finally reached our destination~!

At the lovely stairway with Marie Antoinette’s emblem on the stairway. I think it’s so ostentatious. I want my own emblem too.

She doesn’t have a good reputation amongst French, but I do think she is amazing for the fact that she remains one of the more prominent French historical females to date.

Mirror shot~!

If they did make use of the fireplace, we wouldn’t still be wearing our coats indoors.

This is my favorite shot out of the lot.

I can so imagine holding tea parties here.

The infamous Madame du Barry’s room.

It’s pretty small actually. I think she probably feels like she’s in jail.

The servants at Le Petit Trinon wore these jackets. What I thought was cool were the buttons that actually bore Marie Antoinette’s emblem too.

It was too cold for us to bear. And we had to leave.

Made our way to Julie’s house who graciously invited us over for tea to keep us warm. I managed to meet Julie’s little sister, Sophie who was such a gem. I got a little shock when she came over to flip up my skirt and petti and exclaimed that I must be so cold wearing only the bloomers and knee-high socks outside.

Lucie came over too and they were sharing about the tea party where Misako was there during the Japan expo. It was pretty funny.

It was such fun meeting them again~! I do hope to learn French soon so I can understand them better.
