This item deserves a post all by itself

Posted November 27th, 2008 by minicloud

The trouble I go through and the amount of money I paid for this item is just ridiculous.

But it’s all worth it when it’s finally in my hands.

I let one slip out of my hands before. And this one shall be known as the one that got away.

Sometimes

Posted November 27th, 2008 by minicloud

Sometimes, I like to think that I’m invincible, that if I believe in certain things no one can change that. I believe rationalists call it being stubborn.

Sometimes, I still think I live in 2004. Memories of the past 4 years went by in a blur. The magic of Tokyo lingers on.

Sometimes, I like to believe that I have friends who will fiercely protect me like I would do the same for them.

Sometimes, I like to be human.

Sometimes, I think I need to invest more effort into being patient.

Sometimes, I just enjoy being called a meanie cause it doesn’t make me vulnerable.

Sometimes, I come up with ridiculous posts like this one.

Loli ard the world:Frankfurt Lolita meet 15 Nov 2008

Posted November 20th, 2008 by minicloud

I finally got to meet up with a bigger group of lolitas in Frankfurt. Thankfully Asami was there too so I didn’t feel isolated and weird. And also Yana for being the organizer of this meet.

It’s really getting cold in Europe and certain parts of USA.
The meetup in Paris a few weeks ago nearly killed me too.

Anyway, photos ahead.

We found a big bear to take photos with.

I didn’t get everyone’s name but, the girl in the middle made her own jsk and beret. I’m so impressed. The fabric looked so awesome.

In fact, many of the german lolis on that day made their own outfits. I think it’s pretty damn awesome.

With Yana and Asami~

Michela(?)wearing the Meta swan print. I’m sorry if i spelled your name wrongly. (btw i love your hair)

We headed off to the Murakami Exhibit. And I must say~ He remains one of my favorite popart artists to date.

I am in love with the Louis Vuitton walls.
Unfortunately no photos were allowed inside or I would’ve plastered myself on these walls.

And it was too cold to take any more photos. I need to get myself another coat or something.

It is a good day.

Posted November 17th, 2008 by minicloud

…. because

I won an auction at my max bid price.

The anticipated hiccup for an event did not happen, I don’t have to come up with contingency plans like I thought I would have to.

I am in New York.

Post of sorts

Posted November 17th, 2008 by minicloud

I’m in New York right now. Kinda went crazy when I went to H&M and bought like 4 of the same mini tophat cos I liked it so much. There isn’t much left from the Comme de Garcons collection and it makes me kinda sad. I wanted some of the polka dotted stuff cos it’s so cute.

And don’t even get me started on going to Sephora.

Sephora is my candy store~!!

There’s so much goodies and gift packs now that we’re nearing the holiday season. I bought a Stila Smudge pot pack of 3 for only US$32~!!! I was tempted to get the lip gloss pack for like US$28 for a pack of 6, but then again I don’t really wear lip gloss.

I love New York even if it’s cold and windy and I’m freezing my ass off here. ~!!!!

PS: I am aware that my comments function is wonky. It is in the process of being rectified. Please be patient? :) And I know you guys are still reading although you can’t post comments. Thank you very much for still checking back.

I’ve been surfing alot on art, decor and fashion blogs nowadays (cos I’m bored)

And i chanced upon this artist from UK.

Her name is Su Blackwell and her use of paper in sculptures and installations is both beautiful and whimsical .

I especially love her work “while you were sleeping”

Tea tea tea and some thoughts.

Posted November 6th, 2008 by minicloud

I’m having a mild tea obsession right now.

I remembered drinking tea in the middle of the night to stay up to complete my assignments when I was still in design school. Ah the nostalgia~

am currently drinking the royal milk tea if you have to know

I don’t think I was a good student, my vision was restricted and my funds were pretty much limited. My ideas were based on what inspirations I could have access to or what I could afford.

It was pretty sad.

I think the internet is a good thing (despite the fact that some people get addicted to it). With more access to information, people are smarter and more efficient. If I had been able to harness it better, I’d probably have better grades but then again, I’d probably spend more time chatting than doing my assignments.

But still, the internet is a good thing.

And the point of this whole post?

Tea makes u incoherent. goodnight everyone.

Lolita coordinate: Kinari Pockets JSK

Posted November 6th, 2008 by minicloud

I own this Jumperskirt in all THREE colours that it was made in.

It fits perfectly and I loved it so much I had to get it in all colours.

I wore it to the Palace of Versailles’s Marie Antoinette estate.

I didn’t realise that my stupid hand was covering up the embroidery on the pocket. I was pretty surprised to find out that the Marie Antoinette emblem on the pocket is pretty similar to the original one of Marie Antoinette herself. It’s pretty awesome.

Everything from Baby, the stars shine bright except for bolero that is from Victorian Maiden.

Versailles- Marie Antoinette Estate

Posted November 2nd, 2008 by minicloud

I had the joy of meeting up with the lovely french lolis again.

The weather wasn’t very kind to us and a series of unfortunate events had to start as we stepped out of our doors.

Firstly the trains were late (and/or delayed) as there was something wrong with the tracks. It was cold and frigid. I met Gabrielle and Julie about 40mins late? (oh the poor girls had to wait in the cold for me. T___T)

When we got into the gardens, we got somewhat lost although it was a pretty scenic walk (but I do think walks are for when the weather is warmer. LOL)

Gabrielle had to suffer the wrath that is gravel pavements and uneven ground on her Antenna shoes and my Baby, the star shines bright madelaine shoes too, suffered some battle scars.

There were cows and sheeps and horses on the way there.

Marie Antoinette used to dress the sheeps with ribbons round their neck. It must’ve been quite a sight.
umm no photos since my hands were permanently STUCK in the pockets since i didn’t have gloves with me.

We finally reached our destination~!

At the lovely stairway with Marie Antoinette’s emblem on the stairway. I think it’s so ostentatious. I want my own emblem too.

She doesn’t have a good reputation amongst French, but I do think she is amazing for the fact that she remains one of the more prominent French historical females to date.

Mirror shot~!

If they did make use of the fireplace, we wouldn’t still be wearing our coats indoors.

This is my favorite shot out of the lot.

I can so imagine holding tea parties here.

The infamous Madame du Barry’s room.

It’s pretty small actually. I think she probably feels like she’s in jail.

The servants at Le Petit Trinon wore these jackets. What I thought was cool were the buttons that actually bore Marie Antoinette’s emblem too.

It was too cold for us to bear. And we had to leave.

Made our way to Julie’s house who graciously invited us over for tea to keep us warm. I managed to meet Julie’s little sister, Sophie who was such a gem. I got a little shock when she came over to flip up my skirt and petti and exclaimed that I must be so cold wearing only the bloomers and knee-high socks outside.

Lucie came over too and they were sharing about the tea party where Misako was there during the Japan expo. It was pretty funny.

It was such fun meeting them again~! I do hope to learn French soon so I can understand them better.
