“Popular” blogging culture.
I’m obviously jet lagged. I haven’t slpt more than 4 hours in the last 30 hours or so and it’s 4am here.
I ended up blog surfing I visited http://euniqueflair.com, a blogger whom I’ve “blog-stalked(?)” for some time.
She posted this which I responded to. (I’m slow, so I didn’t respond quickly to her post.)
In the many popular blogs which I discover nowadays are mostly just showgirls posting pictures of the shows they’ve done, F1 carshows, Communicasia, roadshows and stuff. The way they put on makeup and do their nails are staggeringly similar and they all end up looking like clones of each other.
I’m honestly scared of it. On one hand I think, “ohh~ so this is what a cool girl nowadays look like.” and then on the other hand, it hit me.
I’M NOT COOL~!!!!??????? /wrist /wrist /wrist
After calming myself down with some ginseng tea (ok, i kid. It was just water) I began to rationalize the situation; I was never the cool kid in school. I had really close friends which I could ask for nothing more than their friendship. My best friend in Secondary school would muse about life over a pack of chips (very cliche I know) while hanging out somewhere. My life isn’t your typical Gossipgirl episode but I was happy and I was contented.
Fast forward to my current situation with regards to blogging.
Blogging seems to be a way to showcase your life to the world now instead of being a place to conserve your personal thoughts, experience and happenings.
I hate that most of my blog entries is a record of the fact that “I am not dead” instead of telling myself “What I have reflected on recently”.
I can’t stop people from loving wanks and reading blogs of beautiful people, but I can choose not to be one of them.
So here’s to me, weird clothes, weird ideals and the refusal to be a sheepling.
