Just a shoot Dawn and I had today with minimal planning and approximately only 2 hours left of daylight for us to shoot.

Unfortunately for us, we only managed to shoot 2 out of 3 outfits. But I’m glad we managed to get a few shots that are good.

This talk is one by Ken Robinson, an internationally renowned expert in the area of creatvity and innovation with regards to business and education.

This video touches on how our education has been structured to prepare us for college education leading to an over inflation of university degrees. And how in this process, creativity has been compromised.

In many cases, I’ve managed to relate this video to people I’ve met, or known. How educators have affected us in many ways, and have possibly changed our course of life forever.

• How many of you have remembered an incident in school which has affected you so much that it could be a turning point in your life?
• How some people made it easier/more difficult for you to do and enjoy certain subjects?
• How everyone was just expected to be good in languages and mathematics(which I still find ridiculous up till this point) ?

I know a few people who are educators. I’m not in the position to comment on the course of their job and the stress they have to face from their superiors and the children who are on the receiving end. But, whatever they are teaching now, affects the children at least 20 years down their lives. Even the little things that they say like: ” There’s no future in the Arts.”

who are you to determine the future?

I gotta start thinking of more creative titles.

I’m back from New York. And frankly, although it’s freezing, the subway smells like piss and I saw a dead mice on the road, I can’t wait to go back again.

Vday was spent there alone in the Museum of natural history. It’s the best and most well maintained museums I’ve been to so far. Lourve was “*w* omg h00j paintings” but the MoNH was just fun for everyone.
I went to watch a show in the Planetarium and I wish I could’ve shared the experience with someone.

Frankly there just wasn’t anything much to buy anymore. I think I’m going to head to more museums the next time I’m there.

So I was diagnosed with Keratitis, which explains the blurry vision.

Luckily there was no permanent damage to the cornea.
And i was given an all clear for work tml.

I was rly amazed at how the nurse just seems to move so in sync with the doc. And how she always manages to anticipate what is to be done next.
I am impressed by her.

I survived a 19 hour flight back to Singapore. Which is quite a feat. I could never stay still in an aircraft.

I still have blurry vision in one eye and I’m off to see an eye specialist now.
Hopefully, I’m cleared to go back to work.

I’ve never been more glad to be home.
Chinese New year as usual was kinda blah. MY aunt saw my Neverfull and wanted me to help her buy one as well.

M1 Broadband is awesome. I’m typing this in the cab now.
I’m reaching the hospital now. Cya peeps.

no it’s not because of a snowstorm or something, although it did snow this morning.

I am diagnosed with Conjunctivitis, it’s highly contagious and I can’t go home. So I’m stuck here for another day. Under normal circumstances, I’d be happy as a flea on a fat dog, but no.

For the first time overseas, i feel really alone.
My colleagues have already left. There’s no one else I know in NYC.
