I love travelling, I really do. And if I had to say, I like travelling alone.
Nothing beats the sheer thrill of finding out how to go to a place and getting yourself there.

I had the honour of shooting with Nicoline once again during my brief stay in Amsterdam, and I had to travel up to Utrecht to meet her.

Sure, it was only a tram ride to the City Central station and another 30min train ride from Amsterdam to Urtrecht. But a person in a foreign land, it was mystery, it was excitement and possibly meant stepping out of his/her own comfort zone.

There is a certain charm to Amsterdam I can’t quite put my finger on… like there’s something sinister waiting deep within, shrouded by the winter nights that comes too soon. There’s much more character there. I’d love to go back again.

the best hot chocolates comes in a stick that you have to swirl in hot milk to melt. whipped cream is love.

Nicoline and I hung out for quite abit the day after the shoot in Amsterdam itself. Europe changes you. That old charm that still lingers behind.

The most annoying part of my trip was the throbbing pain from my wisdom tooth.

I like travelling alone. But I’d like someone to share it with too.

This involves people staying in Singapore please.

I don’t know if I’m just suay or what.

Everytime someone decides to call my house, I’m sleeping and in that state, I’m virtually dysfunctional.

So this morning (when I’m sleeping) there was an automated call in MANDARIN saying that they are calling from the Supreme Court, press “9″ to verify. Someone would pick up the call. And might I add that they speak Mandarin and/or heavily-accented english.

They would ask for your name and IC number in order to verify the case (which at this point SHOULD already be suspicious but I was sleeping, so please forgive me.).

They would read out a case and tell you they do not have any more information other than that, but they can get the CID to call you back regarding the case. And the supposed CID officer is Khoo Boon Hui. People who know, should realise that he’s the High Commissioner of the Police Force, I don’t suppose that he would make calls like that or god forbid, TALK to people from a common case like this.

So “Mr Khoo” read me my case, saying that my a/c has been involved in a money laundering case by loan sharks and would require my assistance charge me. He even had a whole story of how they might have operated and 3scenerios of what could’ve happened and that it could be an inside job of bank staff selling information to the loansharks blah blah blah….

He said now that he’s got the picture clear regarding my case, he would get someone from the court to call me back.

Which they did.

This time again, someone who speaks Mandarin.
Unfortunately, I have already started to wake up.

I told them, I wanted to speak to someone who speaks english. Someone else called back 2mins later, who spoke really bad english again.
Telling me that she has already gotten the information (WOW, they must be 2desks apart.) and they would have to do a voice recording in order to release me from charges blah blah blah… I told her I’m not comfortable (not because I hate my voice kthxbye.) and that I would prefer to do it in person if that is the case. I told her i’m very free today (hahahhaha~). She said she had 526 other people to refer to (which “Mr Khoo” said the same thing about, they must be really 1 desk apart then.) and that IF I do not make the voice recording now and choose to ignore my case, they would close my bank account and withdraw all my funds (wooo~ *pees in pants*) and that I would not be able to do anything about.

I told her I’d call her back (btw she said she was Khong Foong Yee) and i asked for her direct line. She gave me “6 338 1034″ which was the court’s GENERAL ENQUIRY LINE (but hey, they are convincing aren’t they?)
She sounded really pissed when I said I’d call her back… I suppose “Miss Foong” missed her lunch hour break and did not earn money from me.

I went to the police and apparently they had a few people walk in today with the same case. Just 3 mins after sitting down, there was another couple behind me reporting the same fraud case.

The fact that they spoke in Mandarin means that obviously would like to con the older and more ignorant residents living in my area. I called my mum afterwards to tell her about it and thank god that it was I who picked up the phone instead of her.

So please forward this around to prevent people from being conned and tell your parents about it okay?
