Transformers Movie. *spoilers ahead*

Posted June 29th, 2007 by minicloud

I watched the Transformers movie just now.

Honestly, it’s not a good movie if there are so many lingering questions at the end of it.

Stuff like:

  • Why did they have to pan in and pan out at the transformers while they’re transforming? It would be great if they just let us see the whole damn thing transforming.
  • Why do i see just sparks and close up details of meccha and metal rolling together in the so-called fight scenes?
  • Why did they, OF ALL BUILDINGS, had to send Sam running up the ONLY one without a working lift?
  • What the hell where the other decepticons doing when Megatron was frozen in the arctic circle?
  • Why didn’t Starscream just bomb his way into the place where Megatron was frozen and waited for Megatron to emerge and then kanah scolding instead?
  • Sam seems to be more in love with Bumblebee than Mikeala.

At the end of the day, this video is much better.

i stole this from JuN.

I bet you can probably spot more things now. Keep a lookout for lousy directing. I dunno what the hell Michael Bay was thinking.

Hi, I’d just like to share my 2 cents worth with you on the above post :)

    1) I guess they panned in and out to magnify the effects of the transformations; if they just panned out they can’t see the details of the transformations I guess.

    2) Even in the Transformers cartoons, it’s normal for them to engage in hand-to-hand combat, especially in close quarters where the explosions would probably affect themelves. They use their guns and cannons for longer range attacks.

    3) First of all, the building without the working lift was the highest around the vicinity, and imagine this: Sam goes up the elevator; halfway up, Megatron crashes through the buildings and destroys the lift. Obviously Sam would die.

    4) They were all floating around in outerspace, some of them were in stasis - meaning they were locked in time and couldn’t move. Think Lost in Space and Planet of the Apes.

    5) Megatron was being held in a holding facility that was undetectable by the Decepticons, so although they knew the rough position he was at, they didn’t know where exactly he was.

    6) Bumblebee saved Sam’s life quite a few times, obviously he’d be indebted to the former, and have more feelings for him. Also, the safety of the world was at stake, so Sam couldn’t possibly risk the safety of everyone else just for his love for Mikeala.

But, I have more loopholes of my own to add as well!

    1) Skorpinok’s whereabouts was unknown ever since he got attacked by the airstrike.
    2) Barricade appeared beside Blackout during the highway chase, but disappeared after that.
    3) The Decepticons that spawned from the influence of the Cube(one of them was a canned drink vending machine) mysteriously disappeared after attacking the civilians.

Hmm.. my opinion, the movie was fantastic. You weren’t watching the movie… you were picking out problems. I find it ironic when ocean’s 12 turned out to be crap and loved by many, while this movie that turned out so well be dissed. Obviously, directing ain’t easy.

Marvin had pretty much explained your qns.

    Regarding Marvin’s qns,
    1. Scorpinok probably couldn’t have survived that attack and died.
    2. The robots spawned, to me, aren’t really the focus of that scene. At the end of the show, it was mentioned that the robots that died would be ferried to the deepest of ocean to be crushed by its pressure. While during the credits, the only decepticon seen escaping is starscream. So once again, they can be assumed dead.

And… at the end of the day, if that video on youtube were to be screened instead of this movie, I’m sure it’ll be worth crap loads less than what’s screened now. So, it’s hardly a comparison.

This movie need some improvement . I think the producer turned this movie upside down.

    To lunz:
Well, I’m not saying that the movie sucked or anything - in fact, I think it’s the best movie I’ve ever watched. It’s just that these things are worth pondering. :) When they were examining Skorpinok’s broken off tail, they said that it was self-regenerating, so most likely Skorpinok survived. And what about Barricade? He disappeared after the highway chase. Also, the decepticons that spawned from the cube are of importance - you can’t have some random things appearing to terrorize the city then suddenly vanish into thin air right?
However, whatever the case, it’s a movie that’s worth watching the 2nd, 3rd, 4th and even 5th time.

Oh, and you said “those that died”. The spawns didn’t die, they just vanished. So did Skorpinok and Barricade.

Good observation on the fight scenes. Half the time, all I could see were big pieces of metal hitting each other and sparks flying; while I did quite like the new, more “organic” look of the Transformers, all that detail in their anatomy just made the fighting super messy. It always took me some time to figure out who was beating the crap out of who, if not for the dialogue I probably wouldn’t even be able to realise that Megatron just ripped Jazz in two.

One thing I did wonder about was just what on Earth the humans were planning to do with the cube, even if Sam had managed to get it on the helicopter.

Personally, it was a fun and entertaining movie. But as a Transformers fan, at the end of the movie, it did leave me feeling “That’s it?!”. It wasn’t as bad as I feared, but I did expect it to deliver much more.

Minicloud. That movie was Great. just as Marvin and Lunz had stated. All movie has some flaws to it, but this one was one of the Best. I think the transformation of the Autobots and Decepticons just left me in “Awh” like it was hecka cool. And the fighting scenes were good. I could tell, i dunno how u guys couldn’t, but yeah. Barricade did dissappeared. But yeah, Maybe there will be TRANSFORMERS 2. so yup
